Rugby

Standing on the sidelines coaching rugby in New Hampshire. Check out that whistle and clipboard!

I played rugby for four years at Swarthmore College, mostly at the hooker position, and spent a semester as co-president of the team.  I love the teamwork, exercise, and opportunities for physicality rugby offers!  In fact, I love it so much that I spent two years as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College women’s rugby team in South Hadley, MA.  We had never less than 20 and often as many as 35 players on the team at any one time, falling along the entire spectrum from varsity athletes to new at exercise and with zero to many years of rugby experience.  This was a demanding job, an incredible leadership and mentoring opportunity, and a lot of fun (even if we didn’t win much…).
