About

Environmental Policy and Water Resources Professional

About Me: My professional background is in environmental and outdoor education, and I received a Masters in Environmental Science degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies in order to enter the realm of environmental policy. My substantive strengths are in water resources management and climate change adaptation, while my background as an educator and a writer gives me the essential tools of communications and public relations.

I have researched and written environmental and educational policy analysis, and the social structure and culture of large organizations (in particular the Army Corps of Engineers).  I have written policy memos for clients on topics including the use of resilience as a tool in US Forest Service policy, the role of science in the Oil Pollution Act Natural Resources Damage Assessment process, and possibilities for third-party sustainability certification in the biofuels industry.

I am currently consulting for a client on policy options related to the development of utility-scale renewable energy and how to minimize impact on wildlife and wild land resources.
